Shadow Volume Copy

Hi Folks

Im trying to cut down the size of a backup I run each night. I notice that the Shadow Copy section of the backup includes SQL databases that I already have backed up. This adds an extra 18GB's to the backup, and I want to find out if its safe to remove these databases from the Shadow Copy section without any problems when it comes to restoring everything.

Thanks

Hi. Ive done a bit more research on this, and it appears
that the Shadow Copy might not be emptying its cache
after a successful backup. This might explain why my daily
backup is increasing by 4GB each day. Could someone tell me
how to check if this is the case, and possibly flush that cache
file (wherever it is)...I'm quickly running out of space

Thanks

Hello,

You can unselect the SQL Server selections that are present under the Shadow copy components as you have already backed them up.
