Shared Storage Option in Adamm.log shows as evaluation

Nick_Porter

We have a valid licence for the shared storage option but the adamm.log shows as noted below that it is an evaluation version. I have attempted to remove and then add back in but still get the same eval period that is ticking down. My fear is that out backups will quit working!!!! Any advice is appreciated. Nick

Hello Nick!

- Will you check in your Bediag file if the licenses are shown or not?

http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/254238.htm

- Also you could check under license information under Backup Exec About!

Regards,
Ashutosh

Under Help, about Backup Exec for Windows servers, License information, the SAN Storage Option shows as yes - Licensed, and Yes - Installed. I'll run the BEDiag util to see what it sees. and reply back with the results.

BEDiag File shows the following:

Shared Storage Authorization: Yes
TSM Authorization: No
Library Expansion Options: Unlimited
Evaluation Days Remaining: 32

Still an evaluation~

Hello,

After going to tools-serial numbers and installation and removing the license have you tried rebooting the server?
If not remove the license number-reboot and then try entering the license number again.

Thanks,

Hi Nick,

I think you could go ahead and continue to take backups without any issue and the license will not expire.

If this is not the case, then please contact our sales department:

http://www.symantec.com/corporate/corpdir.html

Please do revert back with details.

Thanks and Regards,
