We have a server running windows 2003 with Class server and SharePoint installed , both with the latest patches. We are using backup exec 10.0d with the SharePoint agent installed on this machine. On a separate server we have our sql database (2005) and have installed a remote server agent, as specified in SharePoint Agent documentation.
The problem we are having is with creating a backup job , when selecting the remote selections > SharePoint serer farms > server farm 1, when we expand the SharePoint portal site the for the configuration databases the following error occurs.
An error was Encountered while attempting to browse the contents of the http://lg\content DB (admin\sthnport1_site).
A network connection to the server could not be established
The only selectable item is index db ( this is local to the sharepoint server)
We have verified that accounts used have Domain admin rights and also tried with the SQL sa account, but to no avail. We are using basic authentication
