Sony AITi1040S Support and Backup Exec 9.1

Currently using Backup Exec 9.1. Will there be updated drivers available to support the latest Sony AIT5 drives, in particular AITi1040S or will an upgrade to 11d be neccessary?

BE 9 hasn't had any new drivers for a long time.
If there are no current drivers, there are unlikely to be any.

That said, most drives just work perfectly fine with their OEM drivers, provided they are a SCSI drive.

Sony bundle Backup Exec 10d with the drive. I tried 9.1 first with sony driver, all ok apart from not recognising media? Time restraints prevented any further investigation. Installed BE 10d using Veritas driver. Works fine. Thanks for your input.
