Stuck on Preprocessing

After upgrading from 9.0 to 9.1SP2 and installing the remote agent patch/fix, with remote agent (on a remote server) and open file option installed, local data backups (files from same server as backup exec is installed) get stuck in preprocessing status regardless of the size of the data to be backed up. Remote backups complete successfully. Have searched and googled this issue but have been unable to find anything relating directly to my scenario. Any assistance would be most appreciated. Backup server is a DC running W2k3 and remote server is running W2kserver.

Hi,

Are you using Advanced Open File Option?

If so the job normally takes some time to prepare the snapshot and the status of the job is shown as "pre-processing".

Aslo check whether there are any active alerts pending in "Alerts" tab.

Are you running the job to a B2d or a tape?

Thank you for your response. We are running the Advanced open option and backing up to a tape carosel. Luckily last night the backup ran just fine (successful). Prior to upgrading to 9.1, backups never took that long to preprocess before starting, so this caused concern. All is well now, thanks again.Message was edited by:

I am having the same problem. Using version 9.1. When trying to backup our Lotus Notes Databases which is about 45GB it gets stuck in the preprocessing state. I have tried the following...

Still no luck.

There are helpful alerts under the alert tab.

Under the job log is the following

The media operation was terminated by the user.
The database server is not responding. Backup set canceled.
