Support of IA64

Any idea in backup a server with IA64??

Both IA64 and x64 are fully supported by v10d

I have an IA64 server connected to SAN, I want to use a tape library directly connected to SAN and backup thru the SAN (in isolated fibre network). But I was told that IA64 cannot be use as a media server and I have to config IA64 server as protected server and backup to media server thru our production network.

That what I want to avoid (affecting backup windows).

Please advice.

The info you were given is correct.  In v10x the media server must be running on a 32Bit OS.  64 Bit support is limited to the RemoteAgent

You'll need to upgrade to v11d to do what you want to do (media server and all Agents)

According to the SCL link for v11d, IA 64 is not listed as supported OS for media server.

Yeah, I had slipped down to the Remote Agent section

Too bad you don't have an x64 server - That does support a v11d media server
