Symantec 12 error (Exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.SEHException)

Background: 

Backup Exec (BE) 12 installed on Windows Server 2003 x64. 

I had SQL 2005 installed but removed it.  Installed SQL 2008.  Backup Exec was installed in its own DB, should not have been affected.  The weekend after the SQL migration, BE ran fine.

The following week, however, the differentials failed and nothing has worked since.

I have attempted uninstalling BE, rebooting the server, and reinstalling.  This has been unsuccessful. 

The error I recieve is: "Exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.SEHException  External component has thrown an exception.  Stack trace: at BackupExec.UI.BEDlgs.ShowDialogWithAdamm (Int32 dialog id)" at ........

If anyone has any input, it would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Cause:

The Microsoft SQL Server 2008 installation may install additional Microsoft .Net framework components, Visual Studio for Applications components, SQL Clients, and ODBC components that are incompatible with Backup Exec 12.0 for Windows.

Resolution:

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 has been tested and supported starting with Backup Exec 12.5 for Windows.

Upgrade the media server to Backup Exec for Windows 12.5
