Tape Drive Offline

I am running Backup Exec 10.0 Rev 5484 on a Windows 2003 Server with an Exabyte VXA-2 SCSI tape Drive. The backup and media servers are on the same machine. The backups have been working well for over a year. Yesterday I upgraded the server from 1GB ram to 2GB ram. Now the shows up offline and will not come online. An event 58053 "Problems were encountered during the configuration of your storage devices" is posted to the Windows event log. If I run the Exabyte diagnostic utility the tape drive and media test OK. Is there something with 2GB ram that would affect Backup Exec?

Have you tried installing the newest tape device drivers from backupexec?

I think, shut down the server and than powered off your library.

Power on your library first and than start the server will resolve the issue.

I applied Service Pack 5 for BE 10.0 and that seems to have resolved the problem.

Thanks,
Eric.
