Backup Exec 11d Small Business Server Suite Rev 7170. Single Dell tape drive. Same tapes Monday - Thursday every week, with 5 Friday tapes. Media Set containing tapes has:
Overwrite Protection Period of 5 days
Append period of Non (Infinite - Allow Append).
Today is Wednesday. Yesterday's backup did not go off. Tuesday tape shows that it was allocated at 7:30 am, about the time it would be inserted in the drive. Tape was not new, it was previously used. The tape is overwrite protected for 4 more days in the media view. Tape is about 1% in use.
Why was the tape allocated? It was not written to. Today's tape was inventoried but not allocated. Can someone explain the logic behind this, or if something is broken?
