Tape failure

I use Backupexec 10.1 and i have some problems with our tapes. In the devices view i have some tapes with problemes. In the split "Append Time Left" there are medias with the description like " not appendable ( endpoint cannot be read).
Can somebody help me? What can I do?
The tapes are LTO3.

Hi Thorsten,

We would like to know

1) To which media set does that tape belong?

2) In B'up Exec-under device tab, when you click on that device what all you can
see there?

Hi all,

i have 3 Mediasets for daily and weekly backup and one for every month
But that ist not the problem. At some medias there are only 2 GB data and Backupexec says that he can read the endpoint.
It's not an problem of the drive i think, it seams to be a problem of the media.

under job properties what option have you selected?

Have you selected the option "Append to media; overwrite if no appendable media is available" or "Append to media; terminate if no appendable media is available"
