To fully protect Windows Server 2003, you must select Shadow Copy Component

Hi,

I've been recently getting this shadow copy error, but it appears all my data is backing up, however, I would like it to sucessfully complete the job.

I think I got the solution, but I am not sure where to get the hotfixes. Can anyone help with the below message?

I assume you are using 9.1, Build 4691.1??? Have you installed the Hotfixes and Service pack yet? Most installations that I would call normal would benefit from HF1, SP1, HF19, HF26, (HF27 if you use IDR), HF31, HF32 and (HF33 if you use Exchange). In that order. Also get the latest Device Driver file. You can piggyback the updates and just do 1 reboot at the end. Make sure the account you are using for the logon account is a Domain Admin level account. I have found that this has solved multiple problems.

Thank you,

Billy

If the server giving that error was recently upgrade from Win2k to Server 2003 you will need to edit the backup job and on the selections tab change the view to text and find the entry for the server with the error and remove the system state selection.

Symantec totally screwed up the old Veritas download page, which separated out patches, installs, drivers and documentaion

Hello,

Could you please update us on the issue? Have you recreated the selections list?

You could also install the service pack 4a which includes most of the hotfixes for 9.1:
