Unable to activate Clean on a Robotic Library

I have followed all the directions and the clean button still appears grayed out when I try to submit a job. I am using a HP Autoloader 1280 Superloader.

I can manually do a clean but cannot clean using a job.

The check mark on the media to set it as a media tape is checked, and it appears in the slot as cleaning media.

Just unable to select clean from the task pane.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am using Veritas Backup Exec 9.0 Rev. 4454

Hello,

Ensure that you have configured the cleaning job as mentioned in the following technote:

Title: How to configure and submit cleaning jobs for autoloaders in Backup Exec 9.x and 10.0 for Windows Servers
http://support.veritas.com/docs/257265

Also check the following:

Some utility jobs in Backup Exec are greyed out when a cleaning slot in a Robotic Library is selected.
http://support.veritas.com/docs/268627

Additionally you can update Backup Exec v9.0 to Backup Exec v9.1. It addresses many issues and enhancements from an earlier version and Build of Backup Exec v9.0. Refer the following technotes:

Title: VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 9.1 for Windows Servers revision 4691.1 (Single .ZIP download)
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/264658.htm

Title: VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 9.1 for Windows Servers General Information
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/262414.htm

Note: 1. BEWS 9.1 is a free downloadable upgrade inclusive of previously installed agents and options from Backup Exec 9.0 for Windows Servers agents and options.

2. Update all agents/options on all remote systems.
