Unable to connect to media server error since updating to SP3

Backup Exec 9.1 under Windows 2003 Server Standard.

Have encountered this error the last couple of mornings following update to BE 9.1 service pack 3.

Restarting the BE services seems to work around the issue, but the problem recurs.

I followed the following recommended Technote:

and I still cannot connect to media server.
I tried the technote and it keeps saying services fail
"the service did not start due to logon failure"
