My backups have been running 100% successful however today when i tried to run a restore job I get "Unable to create selection list"

What is causing this?

We are running 10.0 5520

Hi Mike and Veritas Gurus

I do encounter smiliar problem.
I using PV124T with Be 10 Rev 5520
My backup will complete with no errors. After performing inventory & catalog files, bot operation success.
When doing restore from the completed backup job, after clicking on restore, I having the message. "Unable to create selection list"
Veritas Gurus, please assist on available solutions.

I have encountered exactly the same problem with the same version of BE, within the last week or so.

I would appreciate any help resolving this

Anyone from Veritas technical specialist looking at this forum?
Please investigate and assist on current issues since many other users might be having the problem as well using BE 10 rev 5520.
We need the solution since our backup server already crash and we need to restore back all our critical data

Please assist ASAP

I am receiving this same error message. 10.0 rev 5520. I can't restore critical items that were created 2 years ago.

Yeah this seems to be happening a lot. Upgrade to v10.1.5629 (aka 10d), this has rectified this issue for a lot of people. See the link below to download 10.1:

I assume this is a free upgrade then? I wonder if it will resolve any other issues I've been having. Will it simply upgrade over 5520 and keep all the current jobs etc?

Please let me know if installation of 10d requires a new license before I install.

Yes you can upgrade over the top of 10.0.5520 and it will keep your jobs settings etc. This is also a free upgrade from v10.0 to 10.1 (10d). You can check out the link below if you'd like:

Does this upgrade require upgrading all the Remote Agents as well??

I beleive if you have a v10d media server then you can use v10.0 remote agents, however Veritas recommend you upgrade all the remote agents to 10d. I think it's in the FAQ.

I encountered this exact problem after upgrading from 10.0 to 10d. Any suggestions? Actually it was a clean install of 10d.
