Hello Everyone,
About a year ago, I posted this query-
http://forums.veritas.com/discussions/thread.jspa?threadID=50728&tstart=0
My posting was answered, and I was referred to this article:
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/245048.htm
I am sure that I used the steps outlined in the above article to export my backup job definitions about a year ago. Strangely though - it isn't working now.
Funny though - it sort of works.
Here's the deal,
I run the command,
bemcmd -o506 -j"Yosemite Daily Dump" > temp.txt
C:\Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\NT>dir temp.txt
Volume in drive C has no label.
Volume Serial Number is 0490-18C6
Directory of C:\Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\NT
02/23/2006 03:53 PM 0 temp.txt
1 File(s) 0 bytes
0 Dir(s) 27,322,753,024 bytes free
... and I get a ZERO byte file. That's odd because if I run the command without the > temp.txt and I get about half the output that I expect.
That output is here,
C:\Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\NT>bemcmd -o506 -j"Yosemite Daily Dump"

The above output is helpful - but - __it does not include the selection lists__ for the backup job which is what I am really looking for here.
Basically I am looking to document what each backup job actually backs up. Frustrating that there is no way to get this information into a clear-text format from within the Veritas gui. I can't understand why you cannot at least cut and paste out of the text_format selection list view from within the gui. Anyhow, this limitation makes it very hard to produce a concise list of what is being backed up.
I already reviewed the related article,
http://support.veritas.com/docs/237920
This article discusses possible causes for the selection list not appearing when you export. Two things - the article does not appear relevant to BE10 and my selection list names are indeed the same as my Veritas job names.
Thanks for any help,
Chris
