Hi,
I have a IBM 3580 LTO3 drive connected to a IBM Serveraid controller.
My problem is that BE (10.d) cannot verify the backup and returns an error msg stating;
Final error: 0xe00084c8 - the backup storage device has failed
Storage device "ibm 1" reported an error on a request to read data from media.
Error reported: Incorrect function - v-79-57344-33992 - the backup storage device has failed.
This leads me to believe that this is a scsi-error of some sort, but here's why I think that sounds strange to me;
If I perform the backup and verify in two different jobs - it works perfectly. It is only a problem when I specify that the one job should both backup and verify the data.
Furthermore, the IBM 3580 lto3 drive seems to function flawlessly as it backs up close to 300 GB in less than 3 hours.
I checked with IBM, and there is no newer firmware for the drive than it allready has. Also, I installed the latest Veritas tape drivers.
