Go to the BE installation directory and use BEUtility to repair the BEDB.

Hallo pkh,
the repair of the db doesn´t help, error still exists, during the migration the gui trows the error "Job-Migration failed".
Same error:
upgradeViaSQLScript m_JobMigInternal=0

Hi,
Have you tried to stop the BE services before doing the upgrade? If you have an AV running too, stop those services...
Thanks!

Hmm i think the error ist to find in the database, the following error, here is the translation:

Make sure SQL(bkupexec) service is runnnng on Local system account
and be sure to upgrade BE 2010R3 to SP2 before upgrade to BE 2012

Hallo,
SQL is running on local system account, BE 2010R3 is currently on SP2...same error :(
The message JobMigration makes me unhappy :(

What is the exact version of SQL you have with BE 2010R3?
Is it SQL express sp4 or using full version of SQL?
delete old and useless catalog\restore\jobs and joblogs which are not needed for migration
(they would be deleted by migration anyways)
have you got the migartion report..or not reached to that point yet?
02-08-2012 03:44 AM
Hi Striker,
it´s a full version of SQL 2008 (Version 10.0.5500.0 / SP3 /Standard Edition 64Bit). I have deleted all of the old jobs, catalogs and restore jobs as well...
No, the migration report is not show, the installers prompts to rollback the migration...
02-08-2012 03:53 AM
Try to stop this SQL service (it will stop all other BE service)
and try to run upgrade again.
02-08-2012 04:56 AM
Hmm, i think this ist to dangerous. At the moment i can rollback if the error occures, but what will happen, when the sql service is stopped an the rollback won´t work?
02-08-2012 05:01 AM
...any Symamtec upgrade TN will always recommend you get a backup of your BEDB/catalogs before doing anything.
You need to stop the BE services, along with the SQL service for BE, and then copy the Data/Catalogs folders to another location. if the upgrade bombs out, you still have the data and can simply copy it back again...

Hallo CraigV,
of course you are right :) But I hoped the migration run without any errors...I will discuss with my team what to do...thanks for the help...

Hallo,
hast Du einen deutschen SQL Server dahinter?
Wenn ja, funktioniert das momentan nicht. Mit englischen SQL Server /Express gibt es keine Probleme.

Hallo RackZack,
