Veritas Backup Agents vs. DPM Agents

Hello,

we are in the process of migrating from Microsoft DPM 2012 R2 to Veritas Backup Exec 16 in our Hyper-V Environement.

Is it possible for migrating purposes that both the DPM Agents and Veritas Agents coexists on one machine until the rollout of the backup exec agents is completed and the DPM agents can be uninstalled?

 We don't officially test such scenarios so you may have to find out for yourself, some thoughts however:

If the two products conflict in the way they use change journals and / or VSS snapshots then (assuming the services are not already disabled) you would have to make sure that backup operations of one of the products is disabled whilst you use the other product.

If the two products  conflict on both using the same TCP/IP (NDMP ports etc)  then you will have to stop (and disable) the services of one product to use the other.
