Veritas and Pervasive

I am having an issue with Veritas causing problems when it is running with an application with a Pervasive database. The problem results in the application hanging, and requiring a restart of the server. I have downloaded the agent for Pervasive, but it has not resolved the issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Backup Exec's Open File Option and SQL agent does not support Pervasive SQL database backup .
If you wish to backup Pervasive SQL database, you need to use flat file backup method. To do this you have to stop Pervasive SQL database related services prior to starting backup job.
