Vmware ESXi host with virtula machines backups are failing with Backup Exec 2012

Hi,

I need help

Backup server - windows 2008 R2 enterprises.

Backup software - backup exec 2012

Vmware - ESX 5.0

I have configured vmware backup with 4 virtual machines (2 linux and 2 windows) with logon credencial esx host - root

But backup jobs are getting fail with no premission and does not have credencial to access these virtual machines,

 

anyone help on this issue.

Can you provide the exact error code/message?

Are you running a licensed edtion of ESXi ?
As backup exec makes use of the Vmware Storage API, which is not available in the free edition.

yes Esxi 5 is licensed edition and Vmware Storage API is also available.

What is the transport method you have selected ?

And please provide the exact error message your receive.

Hi NBU_13,

Is this a new Backup Exec 2012 install?
Run live updates to make sure you are fully updated
and push to the remote servers then reboot the host machine
Try removing and then readding the server.
