Hi Mark,

Stop and disable the removable storage service if it is running.

Also upgrade to the latest build 10.0.5520 and install the latest drivers if it is listed as tested in the hardware compatibilty list:

the latest build can be downloaded from the following link:

http://support.veritas.com/docs/277181

Here are the hardware compatibility lists:

I installed the latest version of BE V10 succesfully.
But installation of de latest drivers is Interubted before completing

What could cause this?
I tried to install the drivers after the the upgrade of BE. but no succes. All services are running

Oh and could the problem with the tape be caused because the data on the tape was writen with arcserve for novell previously?null

Job ended: maandag 25 juli 2005 at 14:12:29

Hi Mark,

Did you use software compression while you were using the tapes with arcserve? Backup Exec cannot catalog the media if it is software compressed by any product other than Backup Exec. Please refer to the following document:

http://support.veritas.com/docs/190558
the document is also valid with 10.0
