Hi,

I am think of purchsing the symantec backup exec 2012 to install on Windows Server 2012 and allowing the software to perform the backup jobs.

Just wondering is it true that symantec backup exec 2012 does not support Windows Server 2012?

what other recommendation does symantec have to support Windows Server 2012?

BE 2012 does not support installing on on Server 2012, but it is able to back up Server 2012. See the SCL below

To be able to install on Server 2012 or Server 2012 R2, you would have to wait for BE 2014 which is due to be released soon.

In the meantime, to use BE 2012, you need to load it on a Server 2008 R2 or below machine. See the SCL above for the list of compatible OS'es.
