Wrong Overwrite Protection Period on Media

Hi,

I am doing a backup that runs over two tapes. Both tapes end up in the same media set (Daily) one gets marked with the correct Overwrite Protection Period the other is marked as Infinite Dont allow Overwrite. I am running v9.1 Rev.4691 which I thought was supposed to fix these issues. Any Ideas?

Thanks,

Leigh

I'll bet that volume 1 has Infinite, correct?

As I recall, v9 did this. Only the last volume of a multi-volume set had a specific expiration date, while all the others had a perm date

presumable since all data on the first volumes needs to be protected until the last tape has expired

Ok. That makes sense, Thanks.

So being by behavior how does it treat the set next time I go to write to them. Is it going to write on the last volume first then reset the expiration date on the other volumes or do I have to scratch the infinite tape to allow the overwrite?

Should start on Vol1 first, then Vol2

Once the last volume expires, they all expire with retention calculated from the time that each volume was closed
