Hello. I have version 9.1 installed and it is up-to-date with all fixes. I have Sun Microsystems tape unit with a Quantum DLT 4000 drive, and I am running Windows 2000 server.

When I try to do anything with the tape (other that eject) I get the following message: a0008101 - Invalid Physical Volume Library Argument.

I have loaded the latest Veritas drivers but it has not helped.

I need help.

Hi,

The error "Invalid Physical Volume Library Client Identifier" during a Backup Exec for Windows Servers backup job can be caused by a corruption in the Backup Exec Database. Please follow the steps given in following technote.

I have tried most of the fixes here in the forum. None seem to resolve the Invalid physical Volume Library Argument error. I have a HP Storageworks DLTVS160 Drive on a Adaptec Ultra160 card (Dedicated to the Tape Drive) another controller is present for the Hard disks. Windows 2K server. Windows sees the drive just fine. The Storageworks diagnostics see the drive and it passes all of the diags. But from Veritas BE 9.1 I get the Invalid Physical Volume Library Argument error. I have installed the updates. I have tried the veritas dirvers, the Hp drivers and the windows drivers all with the same results. I also have tried the various database repairs. NO RESULTS.... HELP!!!

I too am having the same exact problem, ,same version, same OS, but my SCSI card is an HP u320. I have noticed that under media types it displays *** instead of the media I selected.
