Hello,

we are running Backup Exec 11d on a w2k3 R2 server. Our Windows LAN is managed through Active Directory. I have a new desktop running CentOS 5.3 (RHEL free clone), which name is "cedrat02centos64";  I incorporated it into AD with Samba. I installed Services for Unix on my AD servers, and configured Samba so that the Linux logins are authenticated by Active Directory.

I wanted to backup cedrat02centos64  using Ralus. I downloaded Ralus from :

http://esdownload.symantec.com/akdlm/CD/MTV/BEWS_11D.7170_LINUX-UNIX-MAC-NT4_AGENTS.2.tar.gz

it installed correctly. The agent installation log ends with :

"VxIF::Info:: RALUS successfully configured on cedrat02centos64.cedrat.lan
VxIF::Info:: RALUS successfully installed on cedrat02centos64.cedrat.lan
VxIF::Info:: RALUS has been successfully installed on all target hosts.
"

I started it with :

/etc/rc.d/init.d/VRTSralus.init start

I did not see any error, but I am unsure whether it produces logs; the only file I can see is

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Apr 20 12:15 /var/VRTSralus/beremote.service.log

Then I went on our server; my CentOS desktop is seen by Backup Exec, I see its name in the computer's list, under 'Active Directory Domains'. But if I try to browse the shares list I get an error (in french) :

"Echec de l'accès à cedrat02centos64"
Compte de connexion : CEDRAT-RECH\adminc

Accès refusé"

that is to say : access denied

CEDRAT-RECH\adminc is our network admin account; I tried to add as new acounts into Backup Exec : adminc, root : without success
I don't have any firewall up on cedrat02centos64, nor have I any firewall between the R2 server and my desktop.

in nsswitch.conf, I have :

passwd: files winbind
shadow: files winbind
group: files winbind

Does anybody have a suggestion ?

Best regards
R. Grasso
