Hi all,
after installation of SP2 for 9.1 consoles show that all tapes in
the library have "Overwrite Protection Period" infinite and "Append
period" not appendable.
Local information at the server is correct. Reinstalled consoles
without success.
Anyone had this before?

thx, peter

Hello,

Which Media overwrite protection level have you selected?

It is recommended to set to Partial.

If the problem remains unresolved then move the media's to scratch media set and then back to the media set re cycle the Backup Exec for Windows Servers services .

And verify the result.

Please update us on this issue.

Hello,
we did set overwrite to partial. As i wrote in the posting the
view is correct at the server console, where the update to
SP2 was installed.
We had the problem before after installing fixes from veritas
update but, reinstalling the console fixed the problem then.

The problem seems to occur the first time bexec writes to a
tape- unused tapes from earlier backups are displayed correctly.
We did the scratch set move/remove procedure without any
result.

Hello Peter,

Please apply this patch.

9.1.4691 Hotfix 3 - Media Management (Media that is not appendable is incorrectly displayed with an Infinite Overwrite Protection)

http://support.veritas.com/docs/264795

This should resolve the issue.
