Hi. I have a question about  backup exec12.5 on windows. Can we use back up exec to backup windows drives like d: e: on the whole. Our oracle database runs on d: and we are planning to call shutdown scripts via backup exec and then backup the directoies? Is it a viable approach? Please let me know your thoughts.

Yes you can backup windows drives

Is it a viable approach?
You can use the BE ORACLE agent to backup the ORACLE DB

check out the Backup Exec 12 for Windows Servers - Oracle Database Server Protection

If I was you then I would configure the ORACLE agent to backup the ORACLE DB.
