Does your VM contain GPT disk?
To chedck this open a command prompt inside the VM. Then type
diskpart
and then inside diskpart type
list disk
which should show you if GPT is enabled.

Do you have all hotfixes for Backup Exec installed ?
What is your version anyway ?
I suggest to update to BE2010 R3 SP1 if you don't have it running already.

Hi,
there are two disks and no GPT enabled.
We use BE 2010 R3 SP1 and all Hotfixes installed!

Are you using a RDM on the VM ?

Have you tried to backup the Exchange VM using the RAWS instead of the AVVI agent ?

Do you have the Exchange 2007 Management Tools installed on the BE server ?
And MAPI/CDO on the Exchange sever ?

The normal backup of the server is ok....
this means, i can backup it not chosing the vmware but tzhe windows server.
then everything goes fine.
NO, I did not try using raws....
where can i find it?

RAWS means Remote Agent for Windows.
Is that installed on the Exchange server ?
If not, push the agent from the Backup Exec media server.
See here how to push the agent:
