backup causes local lan to drop packets

David_Crepeault
Not applicable
Backing up a workstation over the lan causes loss of packets across the switches. Everyday at the same time our local lan was failing. The workstation had a file that was 100 gig. The backup would backup this file and cause packet loss for everyone on the wire until the backup completed.
Any ideas why? We are running ver. 10.

Hello,
- Are you still backing up that file?
- Is there a firewall between these Servers?
- Are you using remote agent or DLO?

That looks much more like a LAN problem than one from BE.
Did you ever experience a similar problem when just copying big files over teh LAN?

greetings
