backup failed?

What exactly does this mean when the verify fails with these messages?  Does it just mean that the files have been changes since they where backed up and have changed. Or is this really indicating a problem of some sorts?
 
 
Verify- \\SQL5\C: Difference encountered in file data.
The file \WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKB918899$\shlwapi.dll is different.
 
Verify- \\WEBECSBAK1\E: DATADifference encountered in file data.
The file \ipMonitor7_bak\db\indexed\4503864115751550981.ipmdb is different.

Hi Kyle -
 
What is happening is Backup Exec runs a CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) of the data on the backup media. This ensures the data on the media is able to be read. The error you are receiving is the data being read on the media is inconsistent and most likely bad.
