backup job complete but with exceptions

Hi All,

New to backup exec, I did my first full backup on Friday night.  I came in this morning and saw all went well except for one exception in the log.

The descriptions was:  Unable to open the item C:\windows\system32\wins\winstmp.mdb - skipped

Should I be concern or can I safely ignore this?  Is there an easy fix?  Any help would be appreciated.

Completed with Exceptions is nothing to worry about generally.  Just look at the cause of the exception each time a job completes that way and see if it is something of importance to you.  In this case, the fiel was probably just in use and was not backed up.  You could get the AOFO option to allow backup of fiels in use.  I wouldn't be concerned about it in general.

Thank you.  I just wanted to make sure it still did the back up.

Yeah, everything else is completely fine and your back up is good.  It's just something wasn't able to be backed up, but was not an error and thus doesn't fail the job.  Your restores will work fine with any job that completes with exceptions.
