backup not working

Backup is failing every day.  dont know why, not experienced in this.  when is fails it is giving me a reference v-7957344-33036 and also v-79-57344-34563 to look at.  Need advice on how to get it working again.  i have attached the error i am receiving.  please advise

Hi Lorraine,

I think this line: "No devices found to run job." is what you should be concerned with.

A couple of things to look at:

1. Does Windows see the device, and consequently Backup Exec?

2. Can you inventory your drive or not? Can you erase a tape?

3. Can you run a small backup job to it, and does it complete successfully?

If no to any of these, post the details. It could be that the drive is faulty, but could also mean your selection list or job could be corrupt.

Hi,

The backup device is offline, you have to put it online.
When possible, turn off the library, the backup server, connects library and then turn on the server.
Run the comado "Tapeinst.exe"

Run an inventory

Run a job

...it will work if there isn't an issue with the drive. If there is a hardware issue, you can expect the drive to go offline again almost immediately.
