be2012 backup a netapp filer without NDMP

Dear  forum.

We are using BE2012 and a Netapp FAS2020.

We do not have the NDMP option installed.

I try to create  a connection to our Netapp by adding a  "FileServer".

However if i try to create a backup job no user account is able to log in to the Netapp, always receiving "access denied".

If I try to map a share on the media server directly  with the given username everything is fine and I have access.

So what is the best practise to do the backup

Any help is welcome.

BE2012 is not listed, but I think the same solution also applies to this version.

The problem was that ndmpd was set to active. Strange in the past it was inactive.
