button to select under backup is white, on a former media server

I have a Backup exec 8.60 Rev 3878 running on Windows 2000 pro. I am tring to backup a Windows 2000 server machine that had Backup exec on it but has been removed. It appears the the program still thinks the 2000 server machine is a media server and so wont let me back it up. How can I correct this?

Was BackupExec installed on the W2KPro machine before the W2KServer backup was retired?

if so, open up your favorite registry editor and drill down to HKLM\Software\Veritas\BackupExec and do a search for the Old Server Name (don't remember the Key off the top of my head, sorry). Delete from there, install the Remote Agent in the Server and you should be good to go

Oh Yeah - Remember that editing the Registry can be dangerous, be careful
