I reformulate my question :
i have:
- Windows 2003 domain.
-Backup exec 10 d.

when i want to backup the domain controller, i can't see the systelm state in the treeview (just C:,D:,....) but i can see the system state of the oders servers.

Which are the possible reasons?

HELP PLEASE !!

Do you see Shadow Copy Components listed with the selections of the server? If so expand that section and you'll see the System State listed within it.

thanks for your replay.

No i did't see Shadow Copy Components. How can i troubleshoot it?

Afraid not, that's where you can find it on a 2003 SBS system, but I don't know if the same is true with a full on AD controller that's presumably on a remote server.

It is the same on a non-SBS Domain Controller.
Expand the domain controller, then under Shadow Copy Components you have System State and Service State.

If this is a remote server, please check the login account you are are trying to access the Domain resources.
Try this :

1. Create a New account in AD
2. Give only Domain Admin and Local Admin rights
3. Use this account to access the remote server

Try to access the server using "User defined" selections and check if you see the system state

Hi,

1. Please check if the Backup Exec Service account has the following rights according to

Document ID: 243033
http://support.veritas.com/docs/243033
What rights must the Backup Exec Service or Logon Account have when backing up local and remote computers in a Windows 2000 and 2003 Active Directory environment, in order to back up the System State.

Also, make sure the "System Logon Account" under Network --> Logon Account - is the same as the BESA (backup Exec Service Account).

2. Make sure you have the rights to access the registry of the DC

3. Enable Restrict Anonymous Support on the backup Exec server and the Domain Controller , follow
Document ID: 238618
http://support.veritas.com/docs/238618
How to enable support for "Restrict Anonymous" when using Backup Exec 8.6, 9.x, and 10.x for Windows Servers

Hi,
I have resolved the problem by "Enable Restrict Anonymous".

Note:
the link: http://support.veritas.com/docs/238618 mentions only exchange. Finally all the servers are concerned

thank you very much Shaishavi.
