Hello,

What is the version of Exchange that you are backing up? In order to prevent the error from occuring so that the jos succeed, refer to the following technotes which concern the same problem:

Title:When backing up Microsoft Exchange 5.5 / 2000 individual mailboxes, the message " WARNING: "?Top of Information Store?? " is a corrupt file. This file cannot verify." is returned in the backup log as an exception in Backup Exec
http://support.veritas.com/docs/255047

Title:"The Backup Exec data store encountered a problem during the operation. See the job log for details." (a000fea9 HEX or e000fea9 HEX) is reported in a failed backup job log or "Database or database element is corrupt" (a000fea9 HEX or e000fea9 HEX) is reported when backing up the Microsoft Exchange Information Store
http://support.veritas.com/docs/269156

Also check the following technote:

Exchange 2003 backups fail with the error: "Database or database element is corrupt."
http://support.veritas.com/docs/265159

We hope the above information helps you resolve the problem. In case it persists, do write back to the forum. Also intimate us if it gets resolved. In case we do not receive your intimation within two business days, this post would be assumed answered and archived.

Regards.
