Did you mean:

end marker unreadable

LarryG
Not applicable
I am a new user. Totally untrained. I use Backup Exec 10 with an Ultrim 2 drive. I only use it for archiving video projects.

I have have stored 6 projects - all verified.

During the backup session for project 7 I had a power failure...I am guessing this is what caused my current problem.

Now the unit says unappendable: no end marker readable.

It also says that I have only writen 791 mb while it also says that I only have 110 gig left of 204 gig.

I have the system set to never overwrite, only append.

How do I set a new marker so that I can continue recording on this media set?

If that isn't the right question....please advise.

Please excuse any delays in my responses, as I am currently working in India.

Thanks.

The problem happened when the power failed. There was no end marker written.
It's kinda like a period at the end of the sentance.
You can't append, because it doesn't know where the end is.
The next time you use this tape, you will have to overwrite so it
can start at the beginning...of course you will loose what was on the tape.
