error on a request to write data

Hi,
Get the above error with 0xe00084ed randomly when backing up workstations from the server. Never get this error backing up the server. Tried different tapes but error still randomly appears. Does not happen to the same work stations or tapes every week. Using media server ver. 10.0 rev 5484 updated to sp4 and updated the rant32 on the workstations which are all running XPsp2. Using an Internet hp dlt vs80 scsi tape drive connected to an adaptec controller. Tried looking up the error but the answers do not seem to apply in this case. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the reply. No we have not tried backing up to disk. I will have to wait until Monday when they are closed to try it.

Hi,
Finally figured this out. On the nights the backup failed a user was leaving a USB memory stick in his computer and Backup Exec was trying to back it up. On the nights it worked the user was taking the USB memory stick home.
