incompatible tapes?

Hi everyone!

We have a 10.d version of backup exec installed and have to use the IBM library driver for the TS3200, because the BE does not provide a own. We already named several tapes (sorry - I don't know the correct english expressions, we use the german version of the program). Doing an initialisation is also no problem and we see the tapes which are added to the specified media pool.
Problem now is: When trying to backup anything or simply do an inventory, the job fails with a reported "incompatible media found in library". The driver for the LTO3 drive is the latest from Symantec, the Windows driver for the library is the latest from IBM. We updated also the firmwares of the library to the latest level. The Library is supported by BE and we already installed SP2. The server runs Windows 2000 SP4 and the RSM service is deactivated.

Anyone any idea? Thanks for any hint!

Hello,

Is your device connected to a raid controller.? If yes then please move it to the Scsi controller.

Thanks

Hello and thanks for your answer.

No, the library is an external device that is connected via a fibre hostbus adapter directly to the server.
