question: BEX 10 rev. 5484; HP USB tape drive: drive not recognised by BEX

I'm trying to get BEX 10 rev. 5484, installed on a Windows SBS 2003 platform and successfully using an HP SCSI drive, to recognise an additional HP external USB tape drive. The drive is included in the Veritas hardware compatability list. The drive can be seen ok by Windows. I believe I have to upgrade to BEX 10 revision 5520, which I have downloaded. Question: do I need to uninstall rev. 5484 first? If not, will my settings be transferred to the new installation? Will I need to enter my serial number again? Thanks for any advice.

Just run the install and point to the same directory that 5484 lives in.

Should not need to do anything special to migrade job defs, select lists etc. And yes, your existing serial should be accepted fine, without re-entering them

Thanks, Ken. I'll implement the install and let you know how it goes.

At last I managed to log in again ... Thanks, Ken, the install worked, the drive is recognised, I'm in business ...
