With Veritas BackupExec 8.6, I am attempting to backup (and restore) volumes presented from an iSCSI host initiator (MSiSCSI v2.0). These volumes are mounted to a folder (i.e. "c:\snapshot\shared"). I have been able to successfully backup the folder to tape with no difficulties (it works with the 'Follow Junction Points' option checked or not).
My problem is on a redirected restore. On a redirected restore, again with either 'Preserve Junction Points' or 'Restore Junction Points' selected, it will remap the volume to the original junction point.
i.e.
Backup c:\snapshot\shared ==> mounted volume on an iSCSI initiator
Restore c:\snapshot to the folder c:\restore
It will restore c:\snapshot into c:\restore, but c:\restore\snapshot\shared gets mounted back to the originating volume (c:\snapshot\shared), i.e.
c:\restore\snapshot\shared ==> mounted volume on an iSCSI initiator
What I really want is it to just copy the mounted folder as a 'static' folder back onto another volume without junction points. Is this possible?
Any ideas?
Thanks,
