renewal bakup exec 12 license

hi everyone,

My company's using backup exec 12. Here's information about renewal for backup exec. In this case, backup exec's version is 2010. Do we need update my backup exec version 12 to 2010 when I renewal ?

If you want to upgrade to 2010 then you can do it as you already got the license for the same. You have to download 2010 and run the setup.exe and it will be upgrade to 2010 and then you can use the licenses for 2010 that you got from SYmantec.

You do not have to update your servers from BE 12 to BE 2010 when you renew your licence.  You are entitled to use an older version, but do take the time to upgrade to the latest version so that you can use the enhancements to the product.

It is upto you, you can renew the contract with 12.0 or upgrade to 2010 and renew the contract.

Not a compulsion !! But its good to be on latest version and propbaly try the new features available if intrested

My exprrience : If your backups and restores are working fine, please do not upgrade to BE2010 as its not stable yet. I would recomend you to get the License keys for BE2010 and wait for some time.
