slow file transfer over wan after updating to 2010 from 12.5

We have two different wans.
One with 2010 on a server 2008, and sending data for a duplicate backup to a 2003 r2 server. Transfer speeds will not go over 5mbps. This is a new duplicate backup we had not done with the 12.5 installation. Have done all the normal file transfer testing outside 2010 and those transfer rates seem to be ok.

The second wan has 2003 servers on both ends. We had previously sent data from one of the servers to the other server, no problems with transfer speed. After we updated to 2010 we are having the same problem with speed not going over 5mpbs either.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

In the past, speeds this slow are usually the result AutoNegotiate on the NICs and switch ports

try hard setting each end of each pipe to the highest speed both will support
