sso caso how many databases

tallyho
Not applicable
If I install CASO and SSO on a number of media servers all connected to one SAN tape library, I understand that the database will be shared and held on the SSO primary media server.

However, when I install the media servers that will belong to the SSO/CASO groups as secondary managed media servers, does each one also have to have a database installed, even if it does not subsequently get used?

If the answer is "yes", is it feasible to install a full version of SQL on my primary media server and create the other media servers' databases on it.  There will be around 15 media servers in total.

My aim is to minimise the number of SQL installations throughout my servers, whilst gaining access to the LAN-free backup functions of the SSO agent.

Thanks
