Im trying to install the updated tape drive drivers from for Backup exec. This installation gets the very end then it fails and rollsback the installation. Here is a copy of the bkupinst.log file. I have put in failure in BOLD.

I have tried article 258603 from veritas... This did not help. I also verified that the folder of the installation has full rights for the system user and the administrator user.

thanks for your help in advance

Hi,

This issue occurs when the installation process fails to detect the tape device attached to the BE Media server. Please power off the tape tape device and the server. First power on the tape device and let it initialize completely, then power on the server attached to the tape drive. Restart the BE installation process. Refer the below mentioned technote for more information to resolve the issue.

If the installation of Backup Exec is failing due to tape device drivers, you may choose not to install the tape device drivers during the installation phase. Once the installation of Backup Exec is complete, use the following link to install the latest drivers.
