this is the second time that I have recieved this error. I know that basically it stands for a hradware fail. I have checked the device manager and the devices are working properly, I have checked for updates and the current drivers are sufficient. We do not use a stand alone auto loader and the tapes can be locked and unlocked and are being recognized by veritas backup exec. I'm not sure what the problem could be other than the tapes themselves. We cycle the tapes, could it be possible that the tapes are going bad? Can anyone help me answer this question.

Could you explain when does this error occur?

Are there any corresponding errors in Application Event Log?

Is this error mentioned in job log?
