vmware-backup excluding profiles

I am backing up my vmware-servers with vmware-agent. So I backup the hole vmdk-files with GRT.

Is it possible to exclude the profiles?

That is not possible.

Even the Vmware agent is Only meant for ESX. it is not supported for Vmware -server.

In ESX the VMX file Is read and stored a XML file during the backup by the vstorage- SPI

VMware backups uisng the Agent for VMware, AVVI, operate at a complete VM/vmdk level not at the file level within the vmdk itself - as such there is no way to exclude part of the content within a VM.

You can do Incremental backups via VMware's Chage Block Tracking mechanism which may help if you are trying to reduce backup windows or storagre requirements.
