Computer coudln't find in Storage location

Hi,

Traget server couldn't find for adding to storage location. This server couldn't find in lookup list, even tried by IP.

What should I do to show it ? (This server running normally)

Have you first created a folder in the specific location ?

If not, create it and assign sharing/security rights as the following ~

Share Permissions on the root NTFS folder defined as the NUDF

Administrator: Full Control
Everyone: Full Control
 

Security Permissions on the root NTFS folder defined as the NUDF
 
Administrator: Full Control
Everyone: Read and Execute, Read and List Folder Contents
 
This assumes the DLO admin service is running under the administrator account and you have logged in to the DLO server using the same account as well.

Since server couldn't find, I think it may blocked by firewall.

Which port should be opened for access ?

Are you doing a push install through the DLO console or via the command line ?

Secondly, does a local install complete successfully ?

- I am trying to push install from DLO console.

- Haven't try local installation.

Try a local install. Also, do ensure a default email client has been set per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/223877

Since need to install on management pc, thus push install is better.

Any root cause and how to fix it ?

Push install is usually the preferred method. There can be multiple causes for the push install failure. The reason I am suggesting a local install is to rule out multiple causes and is a troubleshooting step rather than a preferred method of install.

If you prefer not to perform a local install even for troubleshooting purposes, pls log a support case so that an engineer can have a look @ your setup and figure out whats going wrong.

No files to copy to the client machine.

On the client machine, use Run, access \\<DLO Administration Server name>\DLOAgent

If the permissions are appropriate, you will be able to access, else not.

If MS Outlook PST is not required to backup, can I leave Volume Shadow Copy service disable ?

Based on the numerous errors which you are receiving (and most of them seem to be around permissions), I would suggest you log a support case and have an engineer assist you with the initial setup.

After granted DLO with admin right on storage server, I can add the storage.

But I have a new question. As I want user can choose what to backup, but at least one backup selection need to select.

Is anyway to leave it empty ?

No. At least one backup selection is to be made in the Profile.
