Bypassing Proxy in IE

Alan_M

Has anyone encountered problems with EV on a network that uses a Proxy server? IE does not appear to honor the bypass proxy for local setting or the advanced tab where the server name is identified explicitly. EV generates a timeout error when attempting to archive, retrieve or restore.

If I disable the proxy in IE everything works fine.

Thanks.

The answer was to enable HTTP 1.1 through proxy under the Advanced tab in IE options. The trickier problem was to enforce this via Group Policy. The easiest solution to this was to put IE maintenance in preference mode (in GP) and make this change under the appropriate GP.

the best way it to use the proxycfg tool to provide direct access to the EV server.
Regarding IE you have to add the EV server name in the beginning of the bypass address list and ensure that no GPO is going to override the setting.
