OWA 2007 URL for Archive Explorer and Search Vault redirection

We are working with EV8 and Exchange 2007.
The problem is when we use owa 2007 externally from public machine on the internet, and they hit the Archive Explorer or Search Vault button. It wants to connect to the internal server instead of using the webmail site.

ie our external site is https://metmail.domain.com/owa and when you click on the buttons it tries to redirect you to http://evserver01.domain.com/.........

Has anyone come across this.

I had the same issue and the suggestions in that thread helped me.

We don't use ISA we have a Checkpoint firewall.

Yes this was an issue that was addressed in Ev2007 SP4 and upwards. This is the information provided from the EV2007 SP4 updates.htm file:-

Changes to OWA support

External users unable to use Archive Explorer or Search with OWA 2007 extensions [Ref 754019, E1364008]

The previous release of the OWA 2007 extensions for Enterprise Vault did not support different Web Access URLs for internal and external users. If the Enterprise Vault Web Access URL was not published externally, then Archive Explorer, Search and customized shortcuts did not work for external users.

In this service pack, additional settings are included to support different Enterprise Vault Web Access URLs for internal and external OWA users.
